The hotel was the location for over 200 Film Shoots including Atonement and Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.

For meetings and events the hotel has 7 meeting spaces, including The Original Council Chamber which can accommodate up to 100 theatre style. Meeting rooms have natural light that streams through the art deco windows leading to the Corner Room, perfect for a break or working lunch.  The other meeting rooms are the De Montfort Suite capable of holding 60 theatre style, Bethnal Hall the largest with a capacity of 180 theatre style, the Mayor’s room which can hold 50 theatre style, the Councillors’ room for 20 theatre style, the Secretary’s Room for 40 theatre style and the Deputy’s Room also for 20 theatre style.
