Faro Airport has had good connections with the UK during the Summer months, but unfortunately the airlines don’t run to the same schedule in the winter. The launch of new flights from the UK is great news for event organisers, who will be able to take advantage of the good weather and very competitive rates in the Algarve during the lower season.
Flybe will operate a new service from Cardiff Airport twice a week, Monarch are adding two flights from Luton, two from Birmingham and one from Gatwick and British Airways are adding adding two flights from Gatwick as well.
In addition, there are two new routes in Europe: Ryanair are starting two flights a week from Memmingen airport, near Munich and Air Berlin will operate two flights a week from Zurich. There are three new operations on existing routes with flights from Dusseldorf with Germanwings, Orly Airport, Paris with Aigle-Azur and Stockholm with SAS. Other airlines are also adding to their existing service with one additional weekly flight from Brussels and Eindhoven and three flights from Dublin.
All of this means that Faro Airport will provide flights to 35 direct destinations operated by 15 airlines this winter.
