This is the first of the Yotel branded hotels to open in a city centre location and building work has started on the site in Clerkenwell Road. It will be about six minutes’ walk from Farringdon station and 15 minutes’ walk from the Barbican Centre and will benefit when crossrail has been completed.
This brand offers budget accommodation in cabins which have space-saving adjustable beds, rain showers and smart TVs. The hotel will have a gym, bar, an dining outlet, club lounge, but no meeting facilities.
Yotels already operate at airport locations such as London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Amsterdam Schipol and Paris Charles de Gaulle, and there’s a city centre hotel in New York. Last year, the group announced plans to have 16 hotels open in total by 2018. Seven hotels are in development, including sites in Singapore and Boston which are both due to open this summer.
