A historic building on Madrid’s world-famous Gran Vía is now a boutique, adults-only hotel, according to Marriott International, which yesterday announced the new hotel’s membership in the Autograph Collection, its portfolio of more than 110 independent, one-of-a-kind hotels. The new hotel, Hotel Circulo Gran Vía, is the former home of Madrid’s Merchants and Industrialist’s Circle, a gentleman’s club. Built in the 1920s, it also was a meeting place for the city’s well-known literary society, the Bilis Club.
