Situated on a stationary mooring near the London ExCeL Centre and London City Airport, The Good Hotel offers a distinctive floating hotel experience. Following a recent visit and site inspection by Alex Jarvis, here’s an overview of what makes this property stand out.
The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from Royal Victoria DLR station and offers easy access to the Emirates cable car, which crosses the Thames to the Millennium Dome. This unique transportation option adds to the appeal for those seeking a different way to explore London.
The hotel opens onto a large open lobby, with informal seating merging into a bar, lounge and restaurant. The Good Hotel’s meeting rooms are located off a corridor on the same floor, with four meeting rooms available and are all decorated in quite a minimalistic way. All meeting rooms have views across the water, and are small to medium-sized.
The hotel also offers a rooftop bar which can either be completely privatised, or partially privatised. There’s fantastic views across the water and the nearby developments. There is also direct access to avoid entering through the hotel should you wish.
Perched on the historic docks, the hotel provides picturesque views of the surrounding area. The tranquil environment and proximity to the Thames create a calming atmosphere, making it an attractive option for both leisure and business visitors.
Upon entering, guests are welcomed by an expansive, open-plan lobby that seamlessly transitions into a bar, lounge, and restaurant. The minimalist meeting rooms, located on the same floor, are designed with simplicity in mind and offer stunning water views. These small- to medium-sized spaces are ideal for corporate gatherings or intimate events.
The hotel also features a rooftop bar with exceptional views of the water and nearby developments. It can be fully or partially privatised, and direct access is available for guests seeking exclusivity.
The combination of its floating design and peaceful location makes The Good Hotel a unique option for companies looking for a retreat-like venue that remains within easy reach of central London. The nearby Thames and docks add charm, while the serene setting offers a refreshing change from the city’s hustle and bustle.
The hotel’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) is integral to its identity and is reflected in its mission. This focus adds another layer of appeal for guests and organisations prioritising ethical and sustainable hospitality.
The Good Hotel exemplifies a perfect blend of practicality, charm, and innovation, making it a compelling choice for visitors to London.
