Apex Grassmarket Hotel

As part of Apex Hotels, Apex Grassmarket Hotel has achieved Gold Green Tourism Accreditation.  Switching to 100% renewable electricity sourced from Scottish wind farms; eliminating single-use plastics (removing 900,000 single-use plastics from waste and supply chain), 100% car parks have EV charging stations and implementing a zero-landfill policy since 2019; 50% of waste is recycled; 56,000 plastic guest door keys replaced with eco-friendly alternative bamboo and 25% of all foods are sourced locally.

Eastwood Hall is a leader in the environmental space, and have recently been recognised by being awarded the Green Tourism Gold accreditation, and have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Visit Nottingham Regenerative Tourism Award. It’s focuses on every area of the climate initiatives space, from tracking the lifecycle of their food, including sourcing and transport, reducing their direct environmental effects such as using 100% renewable energy, with electric car charges powered by solar, all the way to voltage optimisation, and installing their very own CHP engines, to produce their own electricity to measurably reduce their CO2 output by 80 tonnes a year!
