It’s been nearly two months since the war started in Ukraine, and we continue to see suffering from people fleeing their homes for safety. To support those individuals and families who need it most, EDGE Venues launched its silent auction last month to raise money for the Humanitarian Relief Fund through the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
The auction launched on 10 March, with 68 lots kindly donated by hotels and venues across the UK. There was tremendous interest from the industry, and EDGE Venues was inundated with some fantastic bids and some additional donated lots that extended the length of the auction.
From the original lot list, EDGE Venues set an initial target of £5,000. Thanks to fantastic generosity and incredible support, the target was smashed, raising just shy of £10,000.
Jacqui Kavanagh, CEO of EDGE Venues, is not surprised by the level of support shown and thanks those who got involved and supported in any way they could.
