Battersea is an area overlooking the Thames in South London and is becoming a hotspot for event profs.
In the fast-paced world of venues and events, trends and popular locations constantly evolve. And while the Battersea area was previously an eyesore of mostly unused industrial buildings, a complete facelift in 2022 has sent it on the way to becoming one of the trendiest London locations. With event profs in mind, here is our list of reasons to love Battersea.
With 200 acres of green space, Battersea Park is a beautiful addition to the area. And it’s a lovely way to bring life back into the once industrially dominated space. As one of London’s largest green areas, there are many activities for delegates to enjoy during breaks or weekends.
These options can be particularly attractive if your event is on a shoulder day (Monday/Friday). Delegates may have the option of arriving a day early or staying on after an event. So they can enjoy everything from ponds, a boating lake and zoo, to an art gallery and a café. All this, and the park itself, is enough to keep your delegates on a wellbeing event track for an entire day!
The idea to turn Battersea into a riverside community is very much underway. The exciting new neighbourhood displays glorious architecture and luxury apartment complexes overlooking the river, and endless entertainment options. The old power station in Battersea has been developed into a trendy new shopping mall which opened in October 2022.
There are various high-end brands for your delegates to seek out – including TAG Heuer and Tommy Hilfiger. More big names are on the way in 2023.
With something for everyone, the mall includes a free museum on the ground floor. Your delegates can learn about the history of the power station, and experience the ‘PowerStation Lift 109’. The glass lift takes riders 358 feet high for a 360-degree view of the city.
Battersea is home to some of the most stylish and diverse restaurants and bars, with something for all guests to enjoy.
Planning to spend a night away from your event venue? You can enjoy a mouth-watering steak at the luxury Macellaio. Or how about fresh vegan cuisine at the Clean Kitchen Club followed by a sophisticated cocktail at Control room B? Switch up the flavours with tasty seafood at The Wright Brothers or indulge in a cool drink at The Lighthouse.
Stylish new event venues are opening across Battersea. And, we’ve seen a selection of popular locations for event profs in the area. The Lost Garden at Lost Societies in Battersea is described as a ‘Hidden Gem’. This venue has a touch of nature with an outdoor space for up to 120 guests – with its own bar/bartender for your event. The partially covered terrace area is perfect for summertime and will make for a stylish eye-catching event this year.
Grand Estates is another glamorous venue, with a modern sophisticated look and a clean look for meetings and teambuilding events. The venue has 2 television screens and great lighting, making it a perfect location for presenting to a group. It is also situated on the ground floor, allowing easy access for all participants.
Battersea is home to some of the most modern and glamorous hotels in London. Here are just a selection that help guests have a relaxing and comfortable stay.
