A 144-year-old former monastery in the Netherlands is set to become a new luxury hotel — the first Dutch member of its Curio Collection — Hilton Worldwide announced last week. Located in Koningsbosch, a village within the Dutch municipality of Echt-Susteren, The Monastery Hotel Koningsbosch, Curio Collection by Hilton, is scheduled to open in 2020 inside a structure that dates back to 1873.
The building, which is known for its neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque architecture, is expected to commence a property-wide renovation, restoration, and conversion this fall. Upon completion, it will offer 100 guest rooms, as well as an upscale restaurant and bar. Other amenities — including meeting space — have not yet been announced.
