The largest meeting room is the Brigante, which leads directly off the lobby, and can be split into 3 sections. This is only the room not to enjoy natural daylight. The other meeting rooms are on the next floor up, and are also decorated in a modern way. The bedrooms enjoy lots of natural daylight and a fresh décor.
Doubletree Leeds
The Doubletree is a 5 minute walk from Leeds Station, and is located on a wharf which lends a really nice feeling to the property. The hotel is a former Mint/City Inn, and is purpose-built, and so feels very bright and airy, and enjoys floor to ceiling windows on every floor. The meeting space is flexible with lots of rooms which can be combined, and some enjoy two full sides of natural daylight. The bedrooms are all airy and bright, and each features an iMac.
I decided to visit Leeds recently to see some of the hotels that our clients like to use and get to know what the city can offer. There’s a great selection of traditional and contemporary properties of different standards to suit all budgets.
Queens Hotel Leeds
The Queens Hotel is located next to Leeds Station, and is directly to the station via a dedicated entrance. The hotel has a cosy lobby which leads off to some of the meeting rooms on the ground floor. The remaining meeting space is on the first floor, including the ballroom. There is a dedicated service entrance and service lift which allows the space to be used for a variety of events, and the room features a balcony that can be used for AV. The hotel bedrooms are decorated in a traditional style, and the executive lounge features a charming outside terrace.
Park Plaza Leeds
The Park Plaza Leeds is a tower block hotel located just down the road from Leeds Station, and is opposite the Queens Hotel and a number of high street shops. The hotel itself has a very modern lobby, and a cute executive lounge right at the front of the hotel. The meeting space is located a little higher up in the hotel, and features alot of natural daylight. A key feature of this hotel is that some of the rooms can be combined, and in doing so meeting rooms can enjoy 2 or even 3 sides of natural daylight. The bedrooms are all modern, and as a tower hotel lots of the bedrooms enjoy views over the city.
Crowne Plaza Leeds
The Crowne Plaza Leeds is located about a 10 minute walk from Leeds Station, and is in a quieter, more business-orientated part of the city than some of the other city hotels. The lobby is large, and some meeting rooms lead directly off the ground floor, while the others lead off the mezzanine. The meeting rooms enjoy natural daylight, and the ground floor rooms are decorated quite traditionally.
Radisson Blu Leeds
The Radisson Blu hotel is situated in the heart of the city centre and is only 10 minute walk from Leeds Station. The lobby is very large and welcoming, in an art deco style, while the meeting rooms are split between the lower ground floor and the mezzanine. The meeting rooms on the lower ground floor are modern and fresh, while the mezzanine rooms which have been recently refurbished are even more modern. All bedrooms are due to be refurbished in early 2015 which promise to be even more bright and specious.
Marriott Leeds City Centre
The Marriott Leeds City Centre is located slap bang in the city centre, and if guests walk out the hotel via the bar/café they will be on one of the main shopping streets. The hotel is decorated in a traditional style, apart from the bar and restaurant, and the meeting space leads off the lobby on the ground floor. The largest meeting room does not have natural daylight, and can be split into three, and features a dedicated lobby area. The smaller meeting rooms on the same floor, which face out of the hotel do enjoy natural daylight.
Malmaison Leeds
The Malmaison Leeds is located just a 10 minute walk from Leeds Station, and is less than a 5 minute walk to the city centre. The hotel is what you would expect of the Malmaison brand, with subdued lighting, and stylish décor, and the meeting rooms on the first floor enjoy high ceilings, which really helps the rooms feel larger. The bedrooms don’t disappoint either, and are also decorated in the same sombre yet stylish way.
Hilton Leeds City Centre
The Hilton Leeds City Centre is a modern styled hotel situated just a 5 minute walk from Leeds Station. The lobby is located on the third floor with lifts and escalators available to bring guests up to the bright and airy lobby.
